Spartan HUD Alpha is a helmet with a high definition LCD screen that you glance down slightly to view, while leaving the vast majority of your vision unobstructed. This way you get the most comfortable viewing experience without any of the downsides of traditional VR (constant occlusion) or AR (poor display quality, high cost) platforms.
A fully functional desktop-powered computer connects to peripherals and runs any software you'd want to implement apps, such as the GunCam software: combining the (included!) rail-mountable GunCam with video-crosshair software to enable you to see and shoot around cover.
Add on any other USB peripherals, and the options are limitless!

Spartan HUD Alpha creates a breakthrough for infantry warfighting tactics: you can now output accurate firepower around cover while completely protecting your head and body! In our analysis of common infantry tactics, we found that the majority of scenarios from room clearing/breaching, to covering fire, overwatch, cornering, and more, require that operators expose their heads and torsos in order to gain information and output firepower.
This is done via a rail-mounted camera module that connects to the SH Alpha and is easily mounted on many rifles and pistols. As well as simply outputting firepower while minimizing return fire, the ability to glance and gain information around walls, corners, barricades, etc without fear of being shot can be absolutely critical.

With a fully network-enabled computer platform, users can access real-time ISR like never before. Imagine traversing a dense forest or abandoned village and see the feed of your forward deployed overhead drone at all times. Or switch to a teammate's POV, share your own to others, and record and upload any footage you want. Maps can also be opened and used easily.

Perhaps one of the coolest and underrated features of the Spartan HUD Alpha is the fact that you get a fully capable quad-core computer with all the usual amenities you'd expect from a full laptop or desktop: internet connectivity, bluetooth, USB peripherals, file and storage system, programming and development environment, etc. In fact the default computer you'll receive will come installed with the versatile Ubuntu operating system, with our "GunCam" software installed and ready to go.

Durable, Stress-Tested, Reliable Smart Helmet
The Spartan HUD Alpha is a reliable and durable helmet that we've stress-tested in a variety of environments and situations. Comfortably run outdoors or operate indoors, without being slowed down. Made from durable and lightweight polycarbonate, BBs ricochet harmlessley off the helmet and the enclosed electronics and screen. With a battery life of over 8 hours at full operation, you can go the entire day without having to worry.
We're excited to bring our next version design to market, which will improve upon all of these strengths: lighter, more durable, bigger battery life, and most importantly, more customizable. There will be more room and attachment points to include other milsim/airsoft add-ons you may want, and various product option trade-offs.
